Nature Lesson in Leadership
Like many of us, I find myself spending weekends getting the house ready for Calgary’s two weeks of summer. This year I have had two pesky robins show up who lay claim to a prime piece of real estate on our deck. Usually, I’m happy to share the land with them, however, not this land. I have done everything imaginable to try and deter them, to no avail. I am now finding myself admiring them for their perseverance. No matter what I do, the barriers they face or the extra work they must undertake, they won’t stop coming, sounds like a great leader right!
Here’s a quick link to 5 steps to developing perseverance. They are all good, however, #3 “Take a Step” may be the most important. Small wins will encourage you to take bigger steps and a willingness to hang in there. You can learn more about these Micro Habits in a previous video I made.
I’m still not sure who will persevere more, the robins or me, but I do know that I have been inspired by their effort.
